Hi, I’m Alex.Me

I don’t like “about me” pages very much.  I never know what to write, what to say, what not to say.  So, that having been said, I’m really not going to write much at all here.  I think you’ll find out a whole lot more “about me” if you read my blog.

This blog, as the name suggests, documents my usage of isotretinoin, more commonly known as Accutane.  I’ve lived with acne for as long as I can remember, and I’ve been on treatments, whether over-the-counter or prescription, for almost as long as I’ve had acne.  I’m currently a senior in high school, and I’ve been seeing a dermatologist for more than a year now.  After a year of doxycycline and Retin-A proved ineffective against my acne, my dermatologist recommended this powerful medication, called Accutane. I had never heard of such a medication, so naturally, I did some research.  Through my research, I found many blogs and journals just like this, and much information that made me want to be on Accutane.

However, the journey to clear skin is not an easy one.  It’s a journey filled with breakouts, dry skin, headaches, sunburns, joint pains, and everything else under the sun.  I’ve been on the journey myself for years now, trying every “wonder treatment” and “better than everything else” treatment I could find.   Hopefully Accutane is the one “wonder treatment” I’ll need, and hopefully my journey to clear skin is nearing completion.

I will document my usage through both text and pictures on “The Accutane Adventure.”  I hope to upload a new set of photos to document my progress every week.  Eventually, I’d like to post  1 week, 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, and 1 year post-Accutane pictures, so stay tuned until then!

I really appreciate any comments or support you provide, and hope that this blog helps others who are deciding to take isotretinoin.  Please look for helpful information such as skin care products, useful links, and acne FAQ to help you in your journey to clear skin.  If anything, I want my efforts on this blog to help others in deciding to take Accutane.  If my journey can help another person take the step to clear skin, everything I’ve written is worthwhile.  So, read the journal, take a look at the pictures, and comment where you feel is necessary ;). Thanks for reading!

Very unique post. I have a hard time finding good content on this topic most of the time when I google it.
